Who we are

Malibu Boats Greece & Cyprus runs this website and is the controller of the personal data you give it. To ask anything about your data, contact us through the form on our contact page.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, we receive what you enter: your name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, how you prefer to be contacted and your message, with the boat or model it is about. We also record the page the form was on, the time and the language of the page.

To keep the form free of spam, our server briefly counts the requests that come from each connection. That count is kept in memory only and is not stored with your enquiry.

Cookies and storage

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and runs no tracking scripts. Its fonts, photographs and films are served from the site itself, and the sea conditions shown at the foot of each page are fetched by our server, so your browser does not contact the weather service.

If you switch the specifications between metric and imperial units, your browser remembers the choice in its local storage; it never leaves your device. Staff who sign in to manage listings receive a session cookie, which is needed for that and for nothing else.

Why we use it, and on what basis

We use your details to answer your enquiry and, if you ask, to prepare an offer or to arrange a service. When your enquiry is about buying a boat or a service, the legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract (GDPR, Article 6(1)(b)). For any other question it is our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us (Article 6(1)(f)).

We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell them.

Who else handles it

Your enquiry is stored and delivered with the help of service providers for hosting, for the database and file storage, and for email. They process it only on our instructions. We name them here before the site goes live.

How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry for 24 months after our last contact with you and then delete it, unless it leads to a sale, when the law requires us to keep the sale’s records for longer.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict its use or send it to you in a portable form. You can object to our use of it where we rely on our legitimate interest. We reply within one month.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus (dataprotection.gov.cy) or, in Greece, to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr). We would be glad to hear from you first.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at its top.
